As a business owner you'll pay an ACC Work levy each year which provides cover for you and your team, in case anyone is ever in an accident. These levies help ensure that the impact that an injury might have on your business is minimised by ensuring that your staff get the right treatment when they need it. You'll also deduct the ACC Earners’ levy from employees' wages.
How much your business pays depends on:
- your business description — this is assigned an ACC classification unit
- how much you pay your employees
- your claims history — the number of work-related injury claims your business has made.
If you’re a contractor or self-employed, you’ll pay ACC every year, too. This covers you for work and non-work-related injuries.
